1. Do FMTS will help students to get students pass? 

Students will have to provide the necessary documents. FTMS will apply for them. Once approved an In-principle approval letter will be issued by the immigration and we will assist them on the collection of the pass. We will assist and guide them but the student has to collect the pass once approved from Immigration office on their own.

For weekend MBA program, Indonesian coming to Singapore to do weekend MBA they can do so and don’t need student pass since they are only flying in on weekend and back.

2. How much the costs of students pass? 

This cost is included in the application fee of S$374.50 (inclusive tax) If there is a need for medical check up, students will have to pay for it as well. The cost should not be more that S$50. The letter from immigration will state if medical is required.

3. What is the process of students’ admission? 

All international student studying full-time in Singapore will have to apply for the Student Pass. They are not allowed to work in Singapore during the duration of their studies.

Following is the application process for your information.

1) Student submit the following documents:
  • Filled application form 
  • Scanned passport copy and birth certificate 
  • Highest qualification certificate and transcripts (English translated) 
  • Bank statement of USD15,000, to show to the immigration that the student has the financial means to      study not coming here for work 
  • For MBA, will need their CV, personal statement on why they wanted to study MBA (about 200 words),   and reference letter either from their employer or academic. For submission to the university. 

2) Student to pay application fee of SGD374.50 (inclusive of 7% GST) via T/T to FTMS bank account
  • This application fee is non-refundable 
  • Upon received of the application fee we will use the above documents on point 1, and submit their student pass application 
  • 2-4 weeks we can check ICA website online on the status 
  • If approved, In-Principle-Approval letter will be sent to the student via email 
  • Student print and show this letter to immigration when they enter into SIngapore 
  • In the event the Student Pass Application is rejected, FTMS will assist the student to appeal 

3) When the student reached Singapore
  • Student reports to the school 
  • If there's a need for medical check-up, FTMS Student Support will assist the student. Medical check up fee paid by the student 
  • Student will go to the Immigration office to collect their Student Pass 
  • Student to do English Placement test, to ensure they meet the English entry requirement. If have to, student may need to study English course with FTMS (not to worry about this) 
  • Student Sign Contract with the School • Course Fee to be paid after signing of the Student Contract 
  • Student Support will brief the student on the Policy, Fee Protection Scheme and Medical insurance coverage 

And finally, the student attend the class. International Student holding a student pass need to have 90% attendance. This is the requirement by the Singapore Immigration Department
